7Up Brand Creates the 7Up Rire-O-Don to Benefit the Association sportive et communautaire du Centre-Sud as Part of its Just for Laughs Partnership

MONTRÉAL, Québec - By simply laughing, visitors to this year's Just for Laughs Festival, presented by Vidéotron in collaboration with Loto-Québec, will be supporting a worthy cause. PepsiCo Beverages Canada's 7Up® brand today announced that it will donate $7.00 to the Association sportive et communautaire du Centre-Sud for every laugh recorded in its 7Up Laughter Cube in the Just for Laughs 7Up Refreshment Zone.
From July 17 - 25, the 7Up Laughter Cube will allow consumers to view the previous participant’s laugh and record their own, thereby creating a laughter chain. The laughter chain will be posted to the YouTube 7Up page once every day.
“Not only will consumers discover the benefits of laughter as they participate in the 7Up Rire-O-Don, but they will be sending those benefits to the Association sportive et communautaire du Centre-Sud. All it takes is a laugh!” declared Manon Lavallée, Director of 7Up Marketing at PepsiCo Beverages Canada.“ A simple burst of laughter reflects one of the main attributes of 7Up beverages: refreshment, pure and simple.”
Comedian Yvon Deschamps, who is also President of the Association sportive et communautaire du Centre-Sud, insisted on pointing out: “This Association has been active in the south-central area since 1974 and does a fantastic job of offering neighbourhood residents a range of activities that are diverse, constructive and affordable. I have been supporting its efforts for many years now, and I hope that lots of people will participate in the 7Up Rire-O-Don.”
7Up, Canada’s leading lemon lime beverage brand, continues its partnership with Just for Laughs through the sponsorship of The Refreshing Zone Presented by 7Up at the corner of Ste. Catherine and Bleury. This year, the Zone will feature bubbles, foam and refreshing mist to give festival visitors a full 7Up sensory experience, the opportunity to cool off with a refreshing 7Up beverage sample, along with scheduled entertainment and the 7Up Laughter Booth.

The annual Just for Laughs Festival, running in Montréal this year from July 3 to 25, is the Just for Laughs Group’s marquée event, attracting more than 2 million spectators and featuring over 2,000 performances, including free outdoor shows, gala performances, street entertainers and stand-up comedy.
This year, over the course of the Festival, The Refreshing Zone Presented by 7Up will feature the world’s smallest disco with guest DJs as well as lighthearted trampoline artists, Flip Flap, performing in the centre of the Zone 4 times a day.
