Mmmmmm… Happy Birthday, Mr. Turtle!
2009 marks 60 years of the original caramel, chocolate and pecan combination
December 01, 2009 @ 09:00AM
Mr. Turtle is turning 60! Enjoying Turtles® chocolates with family and friends has been a Canadian tradition since 1949 – and the always-debonair Mr. Turtle has been the iconic brand ambassador from the start.
“Though Mr. Turtle doesn’t look a day over 29, we’re thrilled to celebrate his 60th birthday,” says Jodie Rogers, marketing manager for the Turtles brand. “From the well-known ‘Mmmm… I love Turtles’ jingle to the simple combination of caramel, chocolate and pecans, Canadians love Turtles and Nestlé loves being an important part of so many holiday traditions.”
To recognize the milestone this holiday season, Turtles will be available in a beautiful, limited-edition diamond anniversary tin, with two layers of delicious chocolates nestled in traditional trays.
Mr. Turtle celebrated his birthday with many friends, including characters from his classic commercials, Nestlé Consumer Communications Director Ted Rideout, and Nestlé Canada staff, earlier this week.
Nestlé original milk chocolate Turtles are made with 100% pecans, and are sold at retail outlets across Canada. They are available in 200-gram, 317-gram, 417-gram and 500-gram boxes, in addition to the new 400-gram commemorative tin. You can also enjoy the taste of Turtles frozen desserts in a tub, single serve bar or cones multi-pack.

love turtles ...love the dark chocolate ones better than milk chocolate. This year though we are having a very hard time finding any dark ones. At least not here in the Comox Valley, Vancouver Island. Have you stopped making the dark variety? We sincerely hope not! Should we be looking elsewhere?
