Fujifilm Brings Extreme Photography to Canada
FUJIFILM XP10 Xtreme Xperiment Contest tests limits of extreme photography for a chance to win $5,000
September 10, 2010 @ 07:00AM
Mississauga, ON - FUJIFILM Canada Inc. has launched the FUJIFILM XP10 Xtreme Xperiment Contest to test the adventureproof features of its FinePix XP10 Digital Camera. Shockproof to 1 metre, waterproof to 3 metres, freezeproof to -10°C and mudproof, the XP10 is the ultimate durable compact digital camera and Fujifilm wants Canadians to put it to the test for a chance to win camera prizes or a $5,000 Grand Prize.
Fujifilm is asking Canadians to submit their extreme testing suggestions for a chance to see them put into action. No idea is too big or too daring – all suggestions will be considered and Fujifilm will pick the most adventurous to be brought to life in a video by Dr. Marvin and Cody, Fujifilm’s extreme testing crew. Canadians can enter the contest and post their ideas by visiting the Fujifilm Cameras Facebook Fan Page at www.facebook.com/fujifilmcameras.
“Since the contest launched, we’ve received hundreds of creative, and daring suggestions like mud wrestling with the camera, using it as a paintball target or as a crash test dummy,” says Paul Woodall, Marketing Manager for FUJIFILM Canada. “We wanted to involve our fans in a contest that’s a lot of fun and also tests the XP10’s adventureproof abilities. We’re confident the XP10 can withstand some serious stress, so bring it on.”
Go Extreme or Go Home
Fujifilm is looking for the most creative and out-there ideas for its XP10 Xtreme Xperiment – the first winning video features Cody strapped to the hood of a car then sent through a carwash to test the camera’s waterproof abilities! Here’s how the contest works:
- Canadians are invited to enter their ideas at www.facebook.com/fujifilmcameras.
- Every two weeks, Fujifilm will pick two extreme suggestions to go head-to-head. The suggestion with the highest number of Facebook fan votes will be made into a video by Dr. Marvin and Cody, and advance to the video voting round.
- In the video voting round, a total of four finalist videos will be created and voted on by Facebook fans. The video with the highest number of votes will win the $5,000 Grand Prize and bragging rights for having the most extreme idea.
Canadians can enter their suggestions until Tuesday, September 28 and vote on the videos until mid-October. For full contest details visit www.facebook.com/fujifilmcameras.
