Kamloops BC, Canada - Imagine a reality show that shares free money making secrets from around the world, stirs in the excitement of an amazing race towards a million dollars and helps you to develop new ways to accelerate your own success.
Meet The Race to a Million (see the “About” page at www.racetoamillion.ca)
The Race to a Million is race between five teams of business people and university students who are competing to be the first to parlay an initial $500 investment into $1,000,000 by July of 2011. Can they do it? If so, how will they do it? Every week on line and on demand, the teams will clearly spell out their money making tactics and you can use any of the strategies you learn about for free. You can also become a virtual member of your favourite team and help them to victory while getting rewarded yourself!
The Race to a Million is not only encouraging fan participation.....they are rewarding it!
(see the “Want to join the fun” and the “Contact” pages at www.racetoamillion.ca)
The organizers have made it easy to communicate with individual teams or all the teams to share your unique money making ideas. If fans submit an idea that one of the team’s put to use as part of their strategy......the contributor will win a unique (and stylish) Race to a Million T-Shirt and they’ll also receive recognition for themselves and their business on the weekly blogs and You Tube videos.
Also.....everytime a new idea is submitted by a fan, their name will be entered to win one one of two all expenses paid trips for two from anywhere in the world to beautiful British Columbia Canada (the Olympic province) next July.
- Free access to money making ideas from around the world.
- A chance to actually participate in the contest and win some cool stuff.
- Receive global recognition for your ideas.
- And......be entertained.........what’s not to love?
A reality experience that is unique on so many levels
Almost every reality show on the air today thrives on controversy and treachery. The producers of the Race to a Million believe that people can be successful and profitable without using such negative tactics.
In an effort to show that nice people can finish first, the Race to a Million has instituted some contest guidelines that that will insure that compassion, friendly interaction and fun are the dominant themes of the show. For example, all investments and strategies must be socially responsible and environmentally friendly...that means that we can’t harm the planet or our fellow man (or woman) in any way .
All investments and strategies must also be sustainable. That means that there can be no multi level marketing and no pyramid schemes. No gambling or illegal activities are allowed.
How will you know that the teams are playing by the rules?
Simple......every financial transaction must leave a financial footprint. That means that there must be a transactional record that clearly shows how the money was earned. All teams are using the same financial institution that is closely monitored by the contest organizers.
Charities stand to be big winners too.
Every team in the Race to a Million is also representing a charity that has a vested interest in the success of their teams. You see , the more money the teams are able to accumulate over the life of the contest, the bigger the share of the prize money that will go towards their cause.
What is the payout for the teams?
The amount of money that teams and the charities can win depends on how many team members there are in the group and the amount of money they earn during the contest. Let’s give you an example of how this might look.
Let’s say that team Nexus is the winning team. For the sake of this example, let’s say that Nexus earns exactly $1,000,000 by July 1st 2011. Nexus has 5 members on their team and when you include their charity of choice.... they would have a total of 6 members. The winning team will be awarded 70% of all monies raised, so based on a total of $1,000,000, the team members and their charity would split $700,000. That means that each member and their charity would each receive $116,666. But wait... there’s more! The Race to a Million organizers will be matching every charitable donation earned by the teams dollar for dollar. So, in the above scenario, Team Nexus would be presenting a check to their charity in the amount of $233,333.... not bad!
Here’s the complete prize breakdown....
-
1st place- 70% of total money raised.
-
2nd place- 60% of total money raised.
-
3rd place- 50% of total money raised.
-
4th place- 40% of total money raised.
-
5th place- 30% of total money raised.
Every group will be presenting money to their charities and the race organizers will match donations dollar for dollar for every team’s charity!
It’s all about the strategy!
Just to keep things interesting and to prove the effectiveness of the team mentality, the organizers of the race have put some investment rules in place. Here’s how that works.....
No less than half of the money in the team’s bank can be used for short term investments. For the purposes of the contest, a short term investment is a 3 week cycle. That means money in and money out in a 3 week period. For example, if a team were to invest in a stock.....they would have to “cash out” that stock within a 3 week
timeframe. There is a calendar in the rules page which gives the exact dates of the 3 week time periods from now until the end of the contest.
No more than half of the team’s money can be used in long term investments. Long term investments do not have any time limits other than being totally liquidated by midnight on June 30th, 2011 at midnight.
Here’s where it gets even more challenging for the teams.
Once a team uses a specific money making strategy, they cannot repeat it. In other words, teams must constantly come up with new ideas and cannot simply repeat successful strategies over and over again. This will make sure that teams are continually being creative with their strategies, while offering fans of the show a great
reason to tune in week after week. New and unique ideas will be the currency of Race to a Million.
